I can’t believe it’s been 40 years since we graduated from Miramonte!!  The years have passed so quickly, but I have to say that most of them have been great.  I graduated from San Diego State University and had several jobs in the business world until 1979 when I took a great job in St. Louis (the only time I have lived outside of California).  I was a Travel Director for a company named Intrav and escorted people (218 people at a time) on international vacations.  I led 28 trips in two and a half years!!  It was wonderful and I have not yet lost the travel bug.  In 1983 I had a tough time as my Mom and my grandmother, Kootchie (who had lived with my family for my whole life and was like a second mother to me) passed away within five weeks of each other.  I comforted myself by doing what I loved; I went back to school (Pepperdine University).  I earned my Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology and then got licensed as a Marriage, Family Therapist.  I have been in private practice ever since and taught in the graduate program at Pepperdine for 15 years.  In 1990 I got married (at the age of 40) to a wonderful man, John Pope, and we are very happy and planning retirement in February, 2008.  There’s still so much living to do!!
