Jon Nissen-Meyer

A very, very short summary of my last 40 years:

I went to UC, Berkeley my freshman year, left for Norway the summer of 68. Studied biochemistry at the University of Bergen, PhD in 1982 in Biochemistry, and I am presently (since 1992) professor in Biochemistry at the University of Oslo. Live outside Oslo, Norway. Married since 1981 with Helene Svalland Nissen-Meyer, three children, Jostein (25 years, journalist), Sigurd-Erik (22 years, student) and Margrete (19 years and student). Have not been back in the USA since a one-month visit in 1979, but we plan a visit this comming winter (2008) to visit our son Sigurd-Erik who is a visiting student at MIT this commining year. Really looking forward to this trip, although we may not make it all the way to California, but we will try. Sorry to say that I can not attend the reunion in august, but hope you all will have a good time - I am sure you will!!! Work takes much of my time, but in spare time I like to go (cross country) skiing and hiking in the mountains, or spend summers near the sea along the fjords.

Best wishes
