Steve Treanor

40 years out of high school – heck that’s nothing. Mardi (Poupeney) and I will be celebrating our 36th anniversary this year!   We’re even having fun in retirement.  We’ve moved around the state for my work and now live in Ventura, California.  Our two kids are launched and doing well.

Our daughter, Allison, is a Senior Graphic Designer for Norstrom in Seattle.  She is an exceptional artist and in her time off a competitive soccer player.  She tried out for the roller derby but our dreams of having a roller derby daughter were crushed when she got cut for being too small!! Our son, Patrick, is a licensed Professional Civil Engineer, working and living in San Francisco.  He is involved in design and construction of a variety of water systems in the Bay Area.  He has spent most of his life connected with water as an ocean lifeguard, surfer, college water polo player and now a water focused engineer.

I retired in 2002 after 30 years with California State Parks as a Ranger type.  My last assignment was the Southern California Division Chief, overseeing nearly one million acres of California parklands.  Currently I teach leadership at the State Ranger Academy in Pacific Grove part-time and serve as a Trustee for the Santa Barbara Trust for Historic Preservation.  I still can be found leading a nature hike, in a canoe on a wild river or packing into some remote area for fun.
